SSD Storage Review: Corsair MP700 PRO 2TB PCIe Gen5 x4 NVMe 2.0 M.2
I have had good success with the Corsair SSD using the SATA interface in the past. The ssd drive was reliable and fast. As a result, I have chosen the MP700 PRO 2TB PCIe Gen5 x4 NVMe 2.0 M.2 SSD as the next gen storage for my New PC Build. I only need 2TB because I store my working files on a network drive. So, the pricing point on this SSD met my needs.
The MP700 Pro reads data at 12,400MB/sec and writes at 11,800MB/sec. The MP700 Pro SE is slightly faster. It reads at 14,000MB/sec and writes at 12,000MB/sec. I probably would have chosen this option, but it came out after I had already purchased the MP700 Pro.
I thought that a fan might be a good idea to have on the SSD drive, however the fan on the ssd dive was too big and did not fit on the Asus ROG Maximus z790 Hero BTF motherboard. The heat sink that came with the Asus motherboard was actually good enough to keep the drive cool. I have not had any issues so far after having it running for a few months.
